I am the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Albania in Mersin and also in Turkey as a representative of the Association of Turkish Honorary Consuls for our region.
As far as I know I am the only one physical disabled Honorary Consul in our country.However, and at the same time, I am the member of Counsil of Mersin Metropolitian Municipality , Chairman of the Commision for the people with disabilities.
We took the task during this period and we did for the first time in Turkey that we have established the head of department for the disabled people in our municipality.
We have performed different mega projects and just as quickly, we continue to produce the new projects.
After our hard works and efforts to create an accessible city , we awarded by United Nations Headquarters in New York in 14th June of 2016.Beside of it World Disability Union (WDU) Global Awareness Award was given to our Municipality (2015)
Our aim is also to show our success in the international arena beside of local and National activities.We are willing to connect,become together the disable people all around the world.We want to increase the awareness for the disability in each corner of the world.We want to show the disability and sucess together.Let us be together in that festival and i wish we can have a sucess to bring all countries.
We decided to perform an International Art Festival (applicants will be just handcapped artists) can be a chance to realize our aim and we decided to perform the festival in Mersin.
Our main goal is to bring together the handicapped musicians, photographers , sculptors, painters etc under the umbrella of an International Handicapped Art Festival.
As i believe one of the most important mission of us as a Honorary Consul is increasing the cultural dialogue between the countries and this festival shall be a great opportunity for all countries to crush the barriers and bring together the handicapped artists.To show all over the world that there is still hopes to be together and we can create a peacefull world if we want.
You can provide us successfull disabled artists in your country (must be well known in country) that you know and assist us for their participation in the festival or we can give you a list of handicapped artists who are well known in your country and you can help us to connect with them for joining of that organisation
The handicapped artists airline transfers and all accommodation expenses will be covered by the Mersin Metropolitian Municipality. However i can send the principles for joining of the festival upon your request
